Reports to: Fitness Director

Essential Functions

1. Greet members by name, actively get to know their feedback and fitness goals.
2. Develop positive relationships with members and encourage success of their goals by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining classes.
3. Circulate around the exercise area while providing safe, individualized instruction to the whole class by addressing safety issues and other modifications for exercises when necessary.
4. Keep accurate records of class attendance, time worked, and substitutions.
5. Consistently meet attendance goals to maintain time slot.
6. Maintain a clean, safe environment by cleaning and organizing studio after class.
7. Arrive early and stay after class to connect with members and answer questions.
8. Promote Athletic Centers products and services to class participants.
9. Maintain clear communication with Fitness Director about any needs or suggestions.
10. Address member concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
11. Attend all scheduled meetings and workshops.
12. Ensure that personal or mechanical problems don’t detract from the member’s positive group fitness experience.
13. Vary exercise routines while complying with established formats and standards.
14. Design routines and provide music per LRAC standards with clean lyrics. Examples: www.powermusic.com, www.yesfitnessmusic.com
15. Uphold our principle to “Improve the Day.”

Requirements

Education

1. Current group exercise certification.
2. CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
3. Basic practical knowledge of human anatomy and kinesiology.
4. Minimum 1 year group exercise teaching experience -preferred.

2. Strong leadership skills.
3. Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational with large groups.
4. Excellent physical condition.
5. Availability to teach a minimum of 2 classes per week.
